If Condoleezza is a lesbian, would you really want her on our team?
A new book about US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has opened up speculation as to the sexuality of America’s most powerful woman. The Confidante: Condoleezza Rice and the Creation of the Bush Legacy by Washington Post diplomatic correspondent Glenn Kessler, reveals that Rice co-owns a home and shares a line of credit with Randy Bean, a documentary filmmaker described as a liberal, progressive woman who may be a lesbian. Kessler also mentions how Rice’s closest male friend is openly gay Stanford University professor Coit Blacker, who served in the Clinton administration and advised Al Gore’s 2000 campaign. He and his partner, along with Condoleezza and Randy, are discussed as a second family, a term Bean uses, as well as saying that “on friends, Rice goes narrow and deep.”
I am not a supporter of Condoleeza, nor am I homosexual, but I wonder… exactly who would you allow on “our team”? Would you allow Native Americans? Eskimos? Only Democrats? Only Republicans? Only straight Democrats or Republicans? Would you allow revolutionary’s like George Washington on “our team”? Would you allow anyone who didn’t conform to your idea of the “correct” American on “our team”? The Nazi’s understood the use of fear and how to exploit human belief… it is an extremely effective weapon to keep out anyone who isn’t in line with the same ideals as you have, but this isn’t Germany, and it isn’t the 1940′s; we are supposed to be an educated, tolerant people. Even Jesus ate with the lepers, and he reminded us to “love one another”. You may find that one day you are the only one left on “our team”, as you obviously feel you are without blemish.
