In the movie “Fatal Attraction” was Alex really pregnant?

I know it’s an old movie & I just watched it for the 25th or 26th time. Alex (Glenn Close) tells Dan (Michael Douglas) she is pregnant & doesn’t he call the Dr & he says it is true? In the end where Alex is killed are we to assume her unborn child was killed too? She could have been lying to Dan but that doesn’t explain the Dr’s confirmation unless she paid him to lie which I doubt. Any1 know ?
Yes I know about the alternate ending. Also he tells a colleague he DID call the DR in 1 scene.

I just saw this the other night too. She could have been lying when she said she doesn’t sleep around. I don’t remember if Dan calls the doctor, but he did go rummaging through her apartment and in the bathroom he saw an EPT pregnancy test.

The unborn baby died when she died.

Did you know there was a different ending? In the original ending, Alex commits suicide and frames Dan for it. He gets convicted and sent to jail, but his wife finds the tape Alex sent to Dan and is able to clear Dan of the crime.
