Tilda Swinton, Glenn Close and Meryl Streep; do you think these actresses are considered good because?

they are not the typical “starlet” actress?

They really aren’t very beautiful (not being rude), but each is considered to be a good actress. Is it because of their looks or in spite of it?

I honestly can say I haven’t watched any movie featuring either of these actresses.

I just didn’t buy Glenn Close as the “other woman” in Fatal Attraction.

Maybe there is a movie with one of these actresses that is worth seeing? Any suggestions?

It has nothing to do with how they look they are gifted. They have rightfully been called great actressess. Here are a couple of wonderful movies that they have made:

Glenn Close:

Meryl Streep:
The Devil wears Prada, Rendition, Lions For Lambs, The Manchurian Candidate, The River Wild, Death Becomes Her, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Ant Bully, ect, ect.
